Organised by our trainees
Our apprentices organised and ran this day. And they came up with all sorts of ideas: who can spot the mistake in the hotel room? There was a fingerprint on the mirror, a toilet seat left up and a pillow at the foot of the bed. In the kitchen, the children and teenagers were able to bake and decorate muffins, as well as fry trout fillets and whip up the perfect mayonnaise to go with them. Enjoying the food together was the delicious finale to this ‘work’.
From napkins to event planning
Getting stuck in was also required in the service department. Mixing fruity mocktails (and then drinking them) as well as folding napkins properly – those were the tasks. Last but not least, it was off to the events department: here, the children and young people could plan an event of their choice: from a birthday party to a conference or even a concert, anything was possible. What would it all take? How should the tables be arranged? When would the food be served? What equipment was needed? There was plenty of discussion and planning.
Nothing works without teamwork
In the end, the children and young people experienced one thing: teamwork. Because behind all the services at the Kursaal Bern are many hands that mesh together like the cogs of a clock, ensuring everything runs smoothly – for the benefit of our guests.
