Closeduntil further notice

Next Saturday (7.11.) the Kursaal Bern will close until probably January. "With a very heavy heart, but circumstances force us to do so", explains Kevin Kunz, CEO Kongress + Kursaal Bern AG

The decision of the Canton of Berne to limit events to 15 people was a de facto lockdown for the business model of the Kursaal Bern with the largest congress center in the Espace Mittelland.

Now booked events can no longer take place, which also has a direct impact on the hotel and restaurants. "In addition to the health and safety of our employees and our guests, the survival of the company is of course our top priority, which is why we have to close temporarily," says Prof. em. Daniel Buser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kongress + Kursaal Bern AG.

The Kursaal Bern stays closed until further notice. "There is currently no planning security", says Kunz. In December, the opening of the Swissôtel Kursaal Bern was also planned after the hotel renovation. This will be postponed until spring.

The Grand Casino Bern, which is also located in the Kursaal, is already closed due to cantonal measures. It will reopen when the canton makes it possible, independently of the closure of the Kursaal Bern
