Martin Suter has given Theater Rigiblick the rights to a theatre version of his novel. It is therefore a great honour for us to present the play exclusively in Bern.
The play will be musically enriched with songs by Stephan Eicher, for which Martin Suter wrote the lyrics.
In a villa on the Zürichberg lives former National Councillor Dr Stotz, surrounded by portraits of a young woman. Melody was once his fiancée, but shortly before their wedding - over 40 years ago - she disappeared. To this day, Stotz can't get over it. He tells young Tom Elmer about it, who is supposed to organise his estate. Gradually, Tom begins to question whether his boss really is who he claims to be. Together with Stotz's grandniece Laura, he begins to investigate, leading him to faraway places - and into a past where truth and fiction lie dangerously close together.
