The circumstances are more serious, but the authors are not.
"Kein Grund, gleich so rumzuschreien", the new book of conversations by Martin Suter and Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre, will be published by Diogenes Verlag at the end of October and can only be experienced live on a few of the major stages in Germany, Switzerland and Austria from 14 December.
Literary rock stars
The rare joint appearances by the two bestselling authors are exclusive rarities, and not just because of the small number of dates - the way they perform, the show staged with a brilliantly unpredictable spontaneity, turns the text into something completely different. Martin Suter and Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre's live performances are always full of surprises. In Berlin, for example, it was the surprising appearance of the marvellous Danger Dan, in Hamburg Linda Zervakis and Caren Miosga read a chapter from the previous book ‘Alle sind so ernst geworden’ and in Cologne Suter and Stuckrad-Barre entertained themselves and the enthusiastic audience with Karl Lauterbach and Tommi Schmitt. Rolling Stone magazine celebrated the supposedly mismatched pair for their performances as “literary rock stars”.
