The concert event is a musical tribute curated by Corin Curschellas to mark the 75th birthday of the Bünder singer-songwriter Walther Lietha, who will receive the Culture Prize from the Canton of Graubünden in 2025. Walter Lietha will be accompanied by the irrepressible Narrenschiff band and some specially invited musicians inspired by the singer, such as Sophie Hunger, Stephan Eicher, Fatima Dunn and Andrea Caprez, who will reinterpret his songs. The concert is not a wistful, nostalgic retrospective, but a lively contribution to the music of the present and, naturally, a proper counterweight to the ‘mainstream’.

Walter Lietha est un visionnaire. Avec ses vers poétiques intemporels, le barde grison s'est frayé un chemin dans la mémoire collective dialectale grâce à ses chansons extraordinaires et à sa voix inimitable. Ses chansons ont touché, inspiré et marqué toute une génération. Dans ses réflexions poétiques, il a donné un langage à l'air du temps, a tendu un miroir à la société et a ainsi touché ses auditeurs au plus profond d'eux-mêmes. Au milieu des années 70, Lietha était « l'étoile la plus brillante du firmament musical suisse-allemand ». Il chante en solo et avec l'Imbodaband, plus tard appelé Lietha-Lässer-Band, sur de nombreuses petites et grandes scènes de Suisse alémanique. Il n'y a guère de part d'appartement où l'on n'entende pas ses disques. Ses chansons ne sont plus diffusées à la radio. Walter Lietha, qui était à l'origine libraire et vendeur de livres anciens, se consacre désormais essentiellement à sa librairie, le « Narrenschiff », à Coire.

Le musicien Lietha est un poète et un conteur doué. Il chante parce qu'il a quelque chose à dire, et il sait de quoi il parle. Lietha a formulé de lourds thèmes existentiels qui concernent l'humanité d'aujourd'hui, de manière à la fois poétique, profonde et prophétique. Quiconque examine son œuvre se rendra compte que beaucoup de choses se sont produites comme il l'avait prévu. Les chansons de Lietha sont toujours d'actualité. C'est une autre raison pour laquelle le public peut se réjouir d'entendre ce que le chanteur, guitariste et auteur-compositeur chante et raconte lors des prochains concerts.
