The Dead South have never been about constantly reinventing themselves, but rather focussing entirely on their own unique path. With confidence in their sound and style and faith in the other band members, The Dead South stand on the cusp of explosive worldwide success in an enviable and well-deserved position: complete autonomy. It doesn't matter what you call their music - progressive bluegrass, alternative Americana, country, folk and western - what matters is that it's their music, and people of different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, languages and ages love it.

The Dead South are bluegrass through and through, and aren't afraid to offend traditionalists from time to time as they perfectly execute banjo rolls and lightning-fast mandolin tremolos, three-part harmonies and songs with classic themes - murder ballads, infidelity, ghosts and the like - with a wink and a smile. The Dead South have learnt an important lesson on their way to the top: if you want to be outsiders, you'd better be great...

The fervour of their Dead South cosplayer fans, who go to concerts in the band's typical look, confirms that this four-piece acoustic band from the Canadian prairies has found its people. Good Company, as they call themselves, is a global community of very diverse people who may not always see eye to eye, but stand shoulder to shoulder at gigs.
