Bodegas Nabal is located in Gumiel de Izán, one of the oldest wine-growing communities in Spain, around 20 kilometres from Aranda de Duero. The east of the appellation is often referred to as the "Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero". Barren limestone soil in the highlands with challenging climatic conditions, hot days and cold nights in the dry summer - the Tempranillo grape can handle this well. It is one of the most important grapes in Spain, whose berries are smaller and ripen earlier. Bodegas Nabal produce a powerful but balanced interpretation of Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero.
Tradition and modernity
Bodegas Nabal stand for a modern interpretation of an old wine tradition. The two brothers founded the winery in 2013 with an uncompromising focus on quality. The small parcel vineyards, some with vines over 100 years old, are located in the immediate vicinity of their bodegas. This avoids long transport routes. Here, the grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is given plenty of time in the barrel and in the bottle, resulting in elegant, long-lasting wines - with a focus on Tempranillo and other indigenous grape varieties that unmistakably reflect the terroir.
